Privacy Policy

The short version

FocalDot stores the tasks you write and the email address you sign in with. That's it. We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or analytics services.

What we collect

• Account info: your email address and display name (from your Apple ID or Google account when you sign in).
• Your tasks: the titles and completion state of tasks you create. Stored so they sync across your Macs and the web dashboard.
• Subscription state: whether you have an active subscription, when it expires, and a reference id from Apple's App Store. Apple does not share your payment details with us.

What we don't collect

• Analytics, telemetry, or behavioural tracking.
• Crash reports beyond what Apple sends through Xcode if you opted in at OS level.
• Your contacts, calendar, location, or device identifiers.
• Your payment details — Apple processes the subscription and tells us only the status.

How your data is stored

Account info, tasks, and subscription state are stored in a Supabase Postgres database (hosted on AWS in the US region). Access is enforced row-by-row: your queries can only return your own data, even if our application code has a bug.

Sharing

We don't share your data with third parties. The only parties who touch your data are:

• Supabase — hosts our database and auth.
• Apple — handles Sign in with Apple and the App Store subscription. They never see your tasks.
• Google — only if you sign in with a Google account, and only for the authentication handshake.

Your rights

You can:

• Export your tasks at any time from the web dashboard.
• Delete your account, which permanently removes all of your data within 30 days. Email hello@focaldot.app to request deletion.
• Cancel your subscription at any time from System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

If you're in the EU/UK or California, you also have rights under the GDPR / CCPA. Contact us with any data request and we'll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

The website uses one cookie: the Supabase session cookie that keeps you signed in. It's essential for the dashboard to work. We don't use any other cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers.

Children

FocalDot is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

If we materially change this policy we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
